Krisjanis Ratiniks "VELOMENS": When the time came to buy my own gravel bike, I knew one thing for sure – I wanted something more than a standard factory model. I needed a gravel bike that wasn’t just lightweight and technically excellent, but also visually unique. One that would reflect both my riding style and personality.
I chose the De Rosa Spider gravel frame – one of the lightest and highest-quality frames of its kind on the market. I ordered it directly from Italy, where experienced craftsmen at the De Rosa factory painted the frame and fork with signature Italian precision and style.
But the visual concept had to be born right here in Latvia. That’s why the design was created by a promising artist and cyclist, Linda Elīna Austruma. With a fresh perspective, bold creativity, and a deep understanding of cycling culture, she developed a color palette that stands out in a sea of black frames.
“Color, color, and more color” – that was the design brief. I wanted the bike to radiate energy, joy, and originality. Not to quietly blend into the background, but to bring the landscape to life.
To complement the bike’s design, the cycling apparel brand Hops! created a special, vibrant kit – just as bold and lively as the gravel bike itself. It not only makes every ride more colorful, but also creates a visual harmony between the rider and their bike.
And let’s be honest – the more visual joy, the more power in the race!
Of course, beauty alone is not enough – a bike also needs to perform as a precise, lightweight, and efficient machine. And in this regard, the De Rosa Spider does not disappoint:
“Full carbon set” - each component was chosen with the goal of reducing weight and increasing performance – nothing is random, everything is carefully considered!
This is not just "another gravel bike. "It’s a gravel bike with a story. It’s the result of a collaboration between design and technology, between Latvia and Italy, between idea and realization. And most importantly – it’s a bike that’s special. Riding this De Rosa SPIDER, I don’t just feel the technical quality, but also the story, pride, and style that accompany me every kilometer. This is my gravel bike. Exactly the one I wanted. And I am proud of it!
